Over the years, Kia has developed an image based on reliability, safety, and budget. Sure, Kia has always had a slightly sporty edge. But, now they're breaking free from the box of convention, wearing their racing stripes on their sleeves for all to see.

The Kia Forte race car for example, a force to be reckoned with, recently finishing second in the Grand-Am race at Daytona. The grand podium finish was the first for Kia Motors and racing partner Kinetic Motorsports, and accomplished only one year following the completion of the program's development year.

"For Kia's second-year motorsports program to reach the podium for the first time at the world famous Daytona International Speedway is an amazing accomplishment, and a tribute to the hard work Kinetic Motorsports put into the Forte Koups during the off-season and the outstanding effort of every crew member at the track," says Michael Sprague, Vice President Marketing and Communications, Kia Motors America. "The camaraderie and persistence of the Nic and Andy and the critical drafting help from teammates Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood made the race and the result even more memorable."1

Proving that their affinity and dedication to racing is more than just a phase, Kia has unveiled the 2011 Kia Optima Turbo SX at this year's Chicago Auto Show. Kia indicates that the new Optima Turbo SX was designed to showcase the racing capabilities of the regular Optima sedan. And while, we at Bald Hill Kia at 1021 Bald Hill Rd. Warwick, RI 02886 can only dream of taking Kia's new racecar for spin, we can tell you from experience that, the non-race-car Kia Optima is ready for the fast lane outside the race track.
