With the rising awareness of environmental concerns Kia is making a large push to produce the most eco-friendly cars in the industry. By providing some of the industry's most fuel efficient cars Kia is creating more options for drivers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. Kia has made being green a priority for the company and they do not plan to stop anytime soon.
Rather, Kia recently teamed with Trees for Cities, an independent charity group that organizes tree planting projects in urban areas in the UK. The two worked together to plant trees, shrubbery, and even new grass at Triangle Adventure Playground in Lambeth, which is one of the oldest playgrounds in London.
First set up in 1957, the Triangle Adventure Playground has seen its fair share of wear and tear over the years. After all, it does offer some of the best climbing frames and rope swings in the area. Add in the fact that there's also an indoor area for play when it's wet outside and a vegetable garden for kids to exercise their green thumbs, and it's easy to see why it's the area that Kia and Trees for Cities decided to revitalize.
On Monday, April 23rd, Kia and Trees for Cities staff were joined by local MP, Kate Hoey joined Kia and Trees for Cities to congratulate them on a job well done and to witness the planting of a tree in memory of the playground's founder, Marjorie Porter MBE. In recognizing the great work that both companies did, she notes, "the newly grassed area is a great asset and I'm sure come the summer there will be many ball games played in the area."1
