Who do car buyers perennially turn to for ratings they know they can trust...ratings that often help shape their final decision? Consumer Reports.  Well, it's that time of year again, and the esteemed editors there have selected six new models for the Top Picks list for 2011. At the top, within the Family SUV category, you'll find Kia who is winning hearts worldwide with their all-new Sorrento.

This is quite the feat for Kia. For to place in Consumer Reports highly-regarded ranking, the Korean automaker had to compete with over 270 vehicles and successfully elbow past market leviathans GM and Toyota. All vehicles are assessed on how well they meet criteria in three critical areas: road test, reliability, and safety.

Elaborating on the outstanding qualities of the Kia Sorrento, Consumer Reports had this to say, "The Sorrento was redesigned for 2011 and is now a more well-rounded SUV. A roomy, nicely finished interior includes comfortable seats and easy-to-use controls. An optional third-row seat, although it is tight, allows the Sorrento to carry up to seven passengers. The smooth V6 engine provides good performance and fuel economy - 20 mpg overall- that's as efficient as the base four-cylinder engine. The Sorrento is also stocked with an inviting list of features for its price, making it one of the bargains of its class."1
